Contact

One address reaches everything here — the finder, the catalogue behind it, and the person who maintains both: info@downto1.com.
There is no contact form on purpose. This site has no accounts, no forms and no database of visitors, and adding one just to receive mail would undo that.
A specification that looks wrong
The most valuable mail we get, and it gets fixed first. Please name which item and which field — "the Alpkit Pipedream 400 comfort rating" is actionable, "your sleeping bag data is off" is not. A link to the manufacturer's current page settles it in one reply.
Comfort ratings, R-values and pack carry limits matter more than anything else, because those three feed the hard rules that decide whether a kit is warm enough and carryable. If the site recommended something you know to be a bad call, that is worth writing about too — say what the trip was.
Gear that should be covered
The catalogue is curated rather than exhaustive, so there are good tents, bags, mats and packs missing from it, and discontinued ones that should come out. Tell us the brand and model, roughly what it costs, and who it is for. Small makers are welcome to write about their own products — with the caveat below.
Brands, retailers and business enquiries
Retailer coverage, regional availability, affiliate and partnership questions, or a correction about your own products: same address. One thing to know before you write — placement cannot be bought. There is no paid inclusion, no sponsored ranking, and no arrangement that would change what the engine picks; see how the kit is chosen for why that is enforced by the code and not just promised.
Data protection
Access, erasure, objection or any other GDPR request: write to the same address and say what you are asking for. The privacy policy sets out your rights in full, names the data controller, and explains what the site does and does not collect — which is very little, since your answers never leave your browser.
What to expect
DownTo1 is run by one person, in Europe, alongside other work. Mail is read by whoever can actually act on it, and a reply usually takes a few working days — longer in August and around holidays. Corrections are often applied before the reply is sent.
Two things we cannot help with. Orders and deliveries: nothing is sold here, so if you bought from a retailer we linked to, that order is between you and them and they will resolve it far faster. Personal shopping advice by email: the whole point of the finder is that the answer comes from your own constraints rather than a stranger's guess — run it, and if the result looks wrong, that is a correction worth sending.
